The Debut „Recipe Of Pain“ combines everything the five from Hamburg love and live for: powerful music with attitude, from Hard Rock to Death Metal, between a bikers boots and the Devil’s Horns. The result? Blackdraft!

Blackdraft are four guys and a girl. They‘ve been around and their influences are wide and diverse, after all it’s never done any harm to experiment has it? Blackdraft’s music crafts everything into an intense and explosive mixture. Maiden-influenced guitars, pumping bass and mighty grooving drums, all the right pieces in all the right places.

But there is more to this band than a pale retro remix harking times gone by. Growls and modern riffing reinforce and lend a dark deepness to the sound. Instead of clinging to safe structures, Blackdraft break through with exceptional ideas, clever breaks and even a touch of humour.

Singer Julia’s voice is an absolutely unique feature: gentle, rough or brutal, she adds the special ingredient to Blackdraft‘s songs. Not a rock voice in the classic sense nor another Angela Gossow, she is a versatile singer that always finds just the right vibe to push the songs across.

Blackdraft
sind drei Männer und eine Frau, die schon lange in der Szene aktiv sind. Ihre Einflüsse sind zahlreich und verschieden – ein Blick über den Tellerrand hat schließlich noch niemandem geschadet. Die Musik von Blackdraft verdichtet die Schnittmenge der vier zu einer intensiven und explosiven Mischung. Eindeutig Maiden-beeinflusste Gitarrenleads, ein klarer, pumpender Bass und mächtig drückende Schlagzeug-Grooves zeigen, dass der klassische Heavy Metal die Basis allen Schaffens bei Blackdraft ist.

Aber die Band ist kein retro-Abklatsch einer Zeit, in der vermeintlich alles besser war. Growls und moderne Riffs reichern den Sound an und geben ihm eine düstere Tiefe. Und statt an althergebrachten Strukturen festzuhalten, brechen Blackdraft ihre Songs mit außergewöhnlichen Ideen, klugen Breaks und dem ein oder anderen Augenzwinkern auf.
