Info for Supernatural Soul Charade

Good jazz can be like an exciting movie with unpredictable twists and turns, in which many genres go hand in hand: action, crime, comedy, romance, thriller, sometimes even horror. Good instrumentalists provide suspense and ensure that our cinemas are set in motion.

Cinematographic jazz stands above the music of a quartet led by saxophonist Tom Reinbrecht, named after a novel by Canadian Booker Prize winner Michael Ondaatje: The Cat’s Table.

With this project, Tom Reinbrecht wants to musically transcend genre boundaries, seek out the wild and untamed, the rock’n’roll in jazz, but also the jazz in rock’n’roll, and take us on a journey through time to a decade that had a lasting impact on him: the 80s.

The Cat’s Table album Supernatural Soul Charade, which will be released in June 2025 is a tribute that is funky and soulful, powerfully groovy, harmonically damned checked out, melodically seductive and sometimes brightly colored in the overall picture.

The Cat’s Table plays music that is so infectious that we forget to reach into the popcorn bucket.

Tom Reinbrecht & The Cats Table

Tom Reinbrecht & The Cats Table
Growing up in a Bavarian village in the Alps, he learned to play the accordion, completed classical clarinet training, and founded a rock band as a teenager, in which he initially sang, as he was initially denied the opportunity to play the saxophone. Later, after he blew the home loan and savings contract, which his father took out for him, he swaps the vocal microphone for a saxophone.

He studied music and became a cross-genre sideman in projects with renowned artists: The New York Voices, Claudio Roditi, Bobby Shew, Paul Carrack, The European Jazz Project, Fritz Pauer, Dusko Goykovich, Nathalie Cole, Victora Horne, Anna Maria Kaufmann, Bayerisches Rundfunkorchester, Al Porcino, Johnny Logan, Lou Bega. As an arranger, he worked for Paul Carrack, Martin Schmitt, the Munich Symphony Orchestra, and various pop acts via SonyBMG.

As a bandleader he produced albums with Claudio Roditi and Paulo Alves (Chop Gelado).

His current album “Supernatural Soul Charade” by his band “The Cat’s Table” is currently being completed and will be released as part of several single releases.

“ SZ-Kritiker Dr. Claus Regnault
