Andreas Röhn
was first concertmaster of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra for 28 years, and is professor for violin at the State Academy of Music in Hamburg, where he himself had previously studied with Eva Hauptmann, a student of Carl Flesch. He received his basic training from his father Erich Röhn, former concertmaster of the Berlin Philharmonic under Wilhelm Furtwängler. Other teachers were Max Rostal, Christian Ferras, Josef Gingold and above all Henryk Szeryng, who became his most important musical mentor.

After winning first prize at the international Carl Felsch Competition, he began his career as a soloist, which took him through many countries. In 1973 he became first concertmaster with Sergiu Celibidache at the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra, and in 1981 he moved in the same position to the BR Symphony Orchestra, still conducted by Rafael Kubelik. In addition to his continuous work with all other principal conductors to this day and his teaching activities in Hamburg, he continued to give concerts as a soloist and with his piano trio, and of course always highly inspired by "guests" such as Riccardo Muti, Zubin Metha and the unforgettable Leonard Bernstein.
