Info for Kapt. Kopter & The (Fabulous) Twirly Birds (Remastered)

Exklusive HighRes-Wiederveröffentlichung von Randy Californias Solo-Albumdebüt "Kapt. Kopter And The (Fabulous) Twirly Birds" aus dem Jahr 1972. Das Album entstand nachdem der berühmte Gitarrist die Band Spirit verlassen hatte. Neben verschiedenen Eigenkompositionen finden sich auf dem Album auch Coverversionen von Songs von The Beatles und Paul Simon.

Recorded after the guitarist had departed legendary West Coast outfit Spirit after the album Twelve Dreams o f Doctor SARDONICUS , the album would be California s first solo venture and soon became a Psychedelic Rock classic.

Among his own compositions, California recorded imaginative cover versions of material by other artists such as The Beatles and Paul Simon. Joined by SPIRIT drummer Ed Cassidy and bass player Larry Fuzzy Knight, this trio would soon take on the Spirit moniker. The re-mastered Esoteric edition includes three bonus tracks, among them both sides of a rare promotional single and the instrumental track Rebel.
