On „Spanische Impressionen“ Munich based pianist Carolin Danner combines the works of Spanish and other European composers, which have been closely engaged in Spanish culture during three different centuries. The Italian Domenico Scarletti, spending most of his life at the Spanish royal court, is represented as well as the French Debussy and Ravel, who integrated their admiration for Spanish music into their compositions. These two have been visited in Paris by the Spanish composers Manuel de Falla, Enrique Granados, and Isaac Albéniz, who on their part developed their very personal Spanish styles.

With the currently most successful contemporary composer José Zárate Carolin Danner provides a framework giving a wonderful insight into the diversity of Spanish music.

Zárate is more then enthusiastic about Danner’s piano playing of his own pieces: “An emotional interpretation with very personal nuances and with a lot of passion.”

Die in München geborene Pianistin Carolin Danner begann ihr Klavierstudium an der Musikhochschule Augsburg bei Christine Olbrich, bevor Sie ans Konservatorium in Genf zu Prof. Elisabeth Athanassova wechselte. Ihr künstlerisches Diplom erhielt sie an der Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst Stuttgart in der Klasse von Prof. Hans-Peter-Stenzl. Inzwischen studiert sie in der Meisterklasse von Prof. Silke-Thora Matthies an der Hochschule für Musik in Würzburg. Teilweise parallel zu ihrem Musikstudiums schloss die Pianistin ein Studium der Physik an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in München mit dem Diplom ab.

Künstlerische Impulse sammelte Carolin Danner neben dem Studium in Meisterkursen für Klavier und Kammermusik bei Igor Shukow, Konrad Elser, Volker Stenzl, Niklas Schmidt, Wolf Harden und Menahem Pressler. Sie erhielt Stipendien vom Leopold-Mozart-Kuratorium Augsburg, der Stiftung Villa Musica Rheinland-Pfalz, dem Festival Oberstdorfer Musiksommer und der Stiftung Live Music Now. Außerdem erspielte sie sich Preise bei nationalen und internationalen Wettbewerben, unter anderem bei den internationalen Klavierwettbewerben „Un ricetto in musica“ in Candelo und „Palma d’Oro“ in Finale Ligure. Carolin Danner trat als Solistin mit mehreren Orchestern auf, darunter die Kammerphilhamonie dacapo München und das Philharmonische Orchester Budweis.

Carolin Danner ist als freischaffende Pianistin und Pädagogin in München tätig. Seit dem Wintersemester 2011/2012 unterrichtet sie als Lehrbeauftragte für Klavier an der Hochschule für katholische Kirchenmusik und Musikpädagogik in Regensburg.
