Info for Voice Of Joy
Friar Alessandro has recorded an album of Christmas Carols and sacred arias, or as he describes it, an album of Joy. Since his first album was released in 2012, Alessandro has captured the hearts of people around the world with his beautiful voice and this album will now fill those hearts with Joy.
When recording Voice From Assisi, his first album, Friar Alessandro had never been on a plane before. Since then, he has now been on 18 flights throughout Europe. For this album, he travelled even further to Bethlehem, his first visit to the Holy Land, to record two of the tracks . Friar Alessandro performed Adeste Fideles (Oh Come Let Us Adore Him) in the place where Jesus was born. He also performed in the Shepherd’s Field where the Angel appeared to the Shepherds to tell them of the birth of Jesus. He could not believe he was there – it was magical, and the magic is captured in this new album.
Featured on two of the tracks is the Coro Regina Coeli, the official chorus of the Metropolitan Cathedral, Buenos Aires. They were the official choir to Pope Francis when he was Archbishop in Argentina. They perform on Alto E Glorioso Dio with Alessandro, a beautiful prayer written by St. Francis. Voice of Joy is an album of beautiful music, sung by a beautiful voice belonging to a wonderful man. It is a celebration of Christmas - an album of Joy.
I'm very excited, because it's the first time for me to stay here in the Holy Land and to discover the holy places of Jesus ... where Jesus was born. I'm very moved inside.' (Friar Alessandro)
Voice of Joy is an album of beautiful music, from a wonderful man, and a celebration of Christmas – an album of joy, from his heart to yours. To accompany this special release you can own a piece of Bethlehem, a beautiful Christmas decoration hand crafted from local olive wood by local university students.

Alessandro Giacomo Brustenghi
was born in Perugia, Italy, in 1978. From his childhood he had a passion for music and this continued into his studies both at the Istituto Magistrale Musicale A. Pieralli, in his native city, and later at the Morlacchi music conservatory where he studied organ, musical composition and also operatic singing. Together with his passion for music he also was drawn to religious life and at the age of 21 he entered as a postulant in the Order of the Friars Minor of Umbria and would later take his final vows as a Franciscan friar some 10 years later. It was in fact the desire to join the Order which pushed him to complete his qualification at the musical conservatory as it was considered a touchstone for the seriousness of his commitment. At present he lives at the Porziuncola Friary in Santa Maria degli Angeli, Assisi, where he acts as a sanctuary guide, welcoming pilgrims to the Basilica there. He also animates the religious celebrations, playing the organ and singing with the choir or as a soloist.
