Info for The Sickness
The debut studio album by the American heavy metal band. With the singles "Stupify", "Down With the Sickness", "Voices" and "The Game".
"Metallic riffs, rumbling synth beats and angry vocals. Disturbed combine the last ten years of American subculture from hardcore, alternative rock and crossover. David Drainman (vocals), Dan Donegan (guitar), Fuzz (bass) and Mike Wengren (drums) create an unflattering picture of a decadent nation in which the confused individual has only two options: to either adapt or to refuse. Which standpoint Disturbed choose is self-evident - they slip into the role of the outlaws. And this is also reflected in the music. Disturbed are sometimes rhythmic, sometimes melancholic, but always mercilessly direct. The title "The sickness" could hardly be more fitting, the 12 songs form an extremely morbid but also varied piece of music. "Stupify" shines with exciting alternating vocals, "Numb" with its impenetrable melancholy and "Conflict" with its groovy percussion. But the real winner is "Shout 2000", a doomy remake of the '84 Tears For Fears classic that is sure to become a real club hit." (Marcel Anders, EMP editorial team)
