Info for Dule Dule
DULE DULE is the second release by Vendredi Soir Swing.
The quartet exceeded this time the bounds of traditional Gipsy Swing and was inspired by influences from the Balkan music, Jazz and different contemporary music. They even present an Electroswing Remix. Some songs are spiked with dadaistic lyrics, that mention sociocritical appeals.
Most of the songs were composed by Valentin Baumgartner. The first two songs Dule Dule and The Engineer form some kind of compositional frame around the guitarist’s approach. The tracks sometimes are related to each other and they express the current style of the band.
For example Zarjier – Grandfather’s Song Part 1 and Tanze Wanze, Wanze tanze – Grandfather’s Song Part 2 as well as La Lune Manouche are inspired by movies.
Dule Dule therefore is in the best, profound and artistic meaning a concept album that is worth to be experienced, fathomed and frequently listened to.
Valentin Baumgartner, guitar, vocals, darabouka
David Heizmann, guitar, vocals
Jonas Künzli, double bass, vocals

Vendredi Soir Swing
