Info for Carry On

Los Angeles duo The Score — comprised of Eddie Anthony (vocals, guitar) and Edan Dover (keyboards, production) — are thrilled to announce their forthcoming second album, Carry On, will be released on August 28, 2020 via Republic Records. Following two blisteringly awesome singles earlier this year — “Best Part” and “The Champion,” both of which appear on the album — the band has also shared an amazing new track today called “All Of Me,” featuring Travis Barker.

A five-year journey brought the Los Angeles duo of Eddie Anthony and Edan Dover from a tiny Upper East Side apartment to gold plaques, nearly three billion streams, one million-plus YouTube subscribers, sold out shows on multiple continents, and a fan base of millions who sing along to every word. The band cultivated a fervent fanbase through a steady stream of releases; as songs “Legend,” “Revolution,” and “Higher ”exploded (all found on their debut album, Atlas), the track “Unstoppable” achieved a gold certification from the RIAA. The 2019 Pressure EP yielded audience favorites “Glory” [38 million Spotify streams], “Stronger” [37 million Spotify streams], “Born For This” [20 million Spotify streams], and “Dreamin” with blackbear [17 million Spotify streams]. Among dozens and dozens of high-profile syncs, their music has appeared in the NETFLIX blockbuster 6 Underground and soundtracked campaigns for Jeep, NBA, and many, many more. Chances are you already know and love The Score just from watching TV and you didn’t even know it.

For the uninitiated, the boys cook up stadium-size anthems uplifted in equal measure by speaker-busting distortion and glitchy 808s. Working primarily out of their L.A. studio, they strengthened the sonic framework with fresh flourishes in the overall production of their sound, resulting in the heady sonics of Carry On. Additionally, they welcomed collaborators such as Pete Nappi [30 Seconds To Mars, Dreamers, Shinedown] and Tim Randall [Imagine Dragons] into the fold, in addition to guest turns from AWOLNATION and Travis Barker. The album’s first single, “Best Part,” evinces their evolution — produced and co-written by Nappi and Steve Aiello, a bombastic beat seesaws between a distorted groove and a chantable chorus, “I can be a liar, I can be a cheat, I can be neurotic, I can be a freak, I can be everything in between, but you always find the best part of me.” Accented by a hummable guitar solo, live bass, and rollercoaster crescendo, it immediately invites a singalong. Elsewhere, whistles and bright riffs underscore a massive refrain on the title track. Originally conceived on an acoustic, the dynamic vocals ring out with purpose and power. “Run All Night” keeps up the pace with intimate vocals and skyscraping guitars, while opening song “Can You Hear Me” pairs the band’s signature soul vocals from Anthony with massive drum fills and pulsing keyboard shards.

Indeed, Carry On is an album that fully leans into its stadium-ready choruses, revealing anthem after anthem across the record’s 15 songs. The songs are unapologetically big, booming, and primed for festival singalongs and celebrations across the globe.
