Info for MIRADOR

MIRADOR conjure sky-shaking and boundary-bursting rock ‘n’ roll by invoking spirits of Ancient myth, traditional folklore, and Delta-born blues in one concentrated musical incantation. In the band, 21st century guitar hero, innovator, songwriter, and GRAMMY® Award-winning Greta Van Fleet co-founder Jake Kiszka not only shares vocal and guitar duties with critically acclaimed co-vocalist and guitarist Chris Turpin of Ida Mae, but he also shines as a producer and songwriter, stepping out on his own.

Initially, the world got to know MIRADOR when they spent a month supporting Greta Van Fleet’s Starcatcher World Tour in arenas throughout 2024. Galvanized by this nightly trial-by-fire, the band rolled right into a Savannah, GA studio with GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Dave Cobb [Brandi Carlile, Chris Stapleton], and cut their self-titled full-length debut, MIRADOR, live in barely two weeks.

Jake and Co. pave an unprecedented path rife with uncompromising fire, unbridled fearlessness, and unmatched attitude, laying the groundwork for a rock ‘n’ roll movement beyond the established scope of the genre.

"There are memorable twists, with the ebullient Blood And Custard sounding like something dreamed up by Led Zep legend Jimmy Page before surging somewhere else. Perhaps even better is Raider, a great song that transforms mid-way into something greater still. Then there’s the emotions, with Chris using his soul-searching voice to dazzling result on Fortune’s Fate. If you’ve got basic things like a pulse, the song’s heart-heavy chorus takes you to a place of regret and longing, and like a lot of the special moments on this debut, its originators can’t really account for where it came from. It just happened." (Steve Beebee, kerrang.com)

MIRADOR

MIRADOR
In April 2024, the Grammy-winning hard rock band Greta van Fleet announced on their social media channels that their guitarist Jake Kiszka had formed a new band called Mirador with Chris Turpin of Ida Mae. With this announcement, Greta van Fleet confirmed their guitarist's new project as support on their Starcatcher World Tour. Since this brilliant launch, Mirador has not officially released a single song to date. Nevertheless, numerous live versions of some songs, filmed by fans at concerts, can be found on YouTube, demonstrating the raw energy of the band's sound. Tracks like "Feels Like Gold," "Roving Blade," "Blood and Custard," and "Must I Go Bound," with their sound spanning blues rock, folky rock 'n' roll, hard rock, and exuberant guitar solos, have become true fan favorites. Their studio versions are eagerly awaited worldwide on the band's already recorded debut album. After a completely sold-out US tour in spring 2025, Mirador will tour again this fall, including in Europe, where they will perform live at the Lido in Berlin and the Luxor in Cologne.

Jake Kiszka and Chris Turpin met in 2018 when Ida Mae opened for Greta van Fleet at three shows at Detroit's Fox Theatre and subsequently supported them on their upcoming North American tour. The two guitarists quickly became friends and shared their love of blues and classic songwriting during jam sessions. It quickly became clear to both of them that the interplay between Kiszka and Turpin was an extremely fruitful one. In 2023, the two friends decided to "write a few songs for fun" in Nashville and a week later had compiled a whopping ten tracks. Inspired by ancient myths, traditional folklore, and blues, a rock 'n' roll sound emerged that pushed the boundaries of the genre. With drummer Mikey Sorbello and London-based bassist and keyboardist Nick Pini, both guitarists finally found members who completed Mirador. After the band's official formation, the four musicians spent two weeks in the studio recording their debut album, "Mirador," with Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb (Brandi Carlile, Chris Stapleton). The album paved an unprecedented path filled with uncompromising fire, unbridled fearlessness, and unsurpassed attitude, laying the foundation for a rock 'n' roll sound that transcended established boundaries.
