Info for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) (Deluxe Edition)

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is the first of an upcoming trilogy of films based on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, one of the companion books to J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. Rowling will make her screen writing debut with this film. David Heyman, who produced the Harry Potter films, will be returning as producer for Fantastic Beasts.

It is set in New York in 1926, seventy years before the Harry Potter series, and will feature Newton Scamander as a main character. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them tells us that Scamander had been travelling the world in research of magical creatures since 1918, culminating with the publication of his masterpiece in 1927.

Warner Bros approached Rowling about using the book for a film, from which she pitched idea that couldn't dislodge". Upon returning to Harry Potter for the first time since 2007, Rowling commented: "I always said that I would only revisit the wizarding world if I had an idea that I was really excited about and this is it. She stated that the idea of seeing Scamander "realised by another author was difficult hence her decision to be the film's screenwriter.

James Newton Howard is one of the most prominent film score composers, known for orchestrally oriented scores, with a selection ranging from relationship dramas to romantic comedies to large-scale action pictures. He is also an arranger, orchestrator and record producer. He has written or arranged songs for Barbra Streisand, Bob Seger, Rod Stewart, Rickie Lee Jones, Cher and many more. His song The Hanging Tree - performed by Jennifer Lawrence for The Hunger Games: Mocking Jay OST - has been all over the charts worldwide.

He has written over 70 movie scores, including The Fugitive (Academy Award nomination), Space Jam (an ASCAP Award winner), Pretty Woman, My Best Friend's Wedding, Guilty by Suspicion, Major League, King Ralph, Prince of Tides (Academy Award nomination), Primal Fear (ASCAP Award), Runaway Bride, The Sixth Sense, A Perfect Murder, One Fine Day (Grammy nomination), Batman Begins, The Hunger Games, and The Bourne Legacy. He has been twice nominated for the Academy Award for Best Song ("For the First Time" from One Fine Day and for "Look what Love has Done" from Junior). In addition, he wrote the themes for the television series The Sentinel and E.R. (winning an Emmy award and an ASCAP Award). His music is particularly admired for its seamless blending of popular and classical music elements.
