Info for Are We Soldiers

Melbourne Australia’s Teramazeare back with their newest album, ‘Are We Soldiers’, available June 21st, 2019 via Music Theories Recordings.

Her Halo, Teramaze's 2015 album, and their first for Music Theories Recordings, saw the band take a big step up from previous releases, with the UK’s Prog Magazine calling the album Exceptional and stating it was one of the finest prog metal releases of recent years.

Four years later Wells and Teramazeare back with another step up for the band. It’s still Teramaze–all huge choruses, crashing guitar chords, intricate time changes and swooping melodies –but it’s a bigger, brighter and even better Teramaze.

Brett Rerekura, vocals
Dean Wells, guitars, vocals
Chris Zoupa, guitar
Jonah Weingarten, keyboards
Andrew Cameron, bass
Rob Brens, drums

Teramaze
Hard work pays off in the world of music; band after band trying to plant their own flag in whatever scene pertains to their music. Sometimes it takes one album, sometimes it takes more. Persistence pays off, and Melbourne, Australia’s Teramaze know a thing or two about keeping their heads up.

Teramaze was originally formed during lead guitarist/producer Dean Well’s teenage years. The band put out a couple albums in the early years, but it wasn’t until the release of Anhedonia in 2012 that Wells felt the modern version of Teramaze actually began. That third album was met with critical acclaim, as was the follow up of 2014’s Esoteric Symbolism, which saw the quartet making a bolder statement and taking no prisoners to flex their musical muscle even further. Now with a new record deal with Mascot Label Group, they have arrived with their cinematic Her Halo. This new deal with Mascot not only brings about more potential, but promise as well.

Wells will tell you himself that the Teramaze sound is assembled within the framework of the songwriting. Regardless of that focus, there is certainly a lot more than simply a faint slither of technicality due to the intricate musical bravado brushing up against the melodies, tunefully brandishing a smoothly executed soundscape while retaining the shee

Whilst loosely befitting the genre of thrash metal, the music of Teramaze conjures such adjectives as "modern", "innovative", "progressive" and "groove-laden". Keeping the fundamental elements of metal alive in its music, Teramaze has the potential to push metal into unchartered waters with innovative guitar work, powerful grooves and soaring melodic vocals. New Album produced/mixed by Dean Wells and mastering Lasse Lammert.
