Info for Good To Be...

Written partially in Nashville and partially in the Compton house Keb’ grew up in, Good To Be… weaves together past and present into a heartwarming tapestry spanning more than forty years of sonic evolution. Joined by a variety of collaborators, including country legend Vince Gill, famed producer Tom Hambridge (B.B. King, Buddy Guy), Darius Rucker, Kristin Chenoweth, and Old Crow Medicine Show, Good To Be…is a deeply cohesive and optimistic collection of music about appreciating what you’ve got, where you come from, and who you get to share it with.

“Good To Be (Home Again)” is a celebration of Keb’s upbringing in Compton, California, with a theme of growing old and growing up without forgetting where you come from. He wrote some of the album in the house in Compton in which he grew up, and some of it in his adopted home town of Nashville.

“I believe that music has the power to heal,” says Mo’, “and I wanted this album to make people feel good. I wanted it to bring joy and make them maybe think about where they come from and the journeys that brought them to where they are.”

Keb’ Mo’’s last album of all-new material, Oklahoma, was released in June 2019 and won the Grammy Award for Best Americana Album at the 62nd Grammy Awards. He followed it with his first holiday release, Moonlight, Mistletoe & You, in December that year.
