Mit der Kelly Family feierte Michael Patrick Kelly in den 1990er-Jahren große Erfolge. Nach dieser Zeit und seinem Solodebüt im Jahr 2013 zog sich der irisch-amerikanische Folksänger jedoch erst einmal aus der Öffentlichkeit zurück, lebte lange Zeit im Kloster.
Seit ein paar Jahren ist Michael Patrick Kelly nun aber wieder da, und zwar kreativer denn je. Mit „iD“ präsentiert er sein neues Album, das dritte innerhalb von nur drei Jahren. Und der Name ist Programm.

Irish-American singer and hit songwriter Michael Patrick Kelly was born into a family band, which catapulted him to stardom as a teenager and made him the heartthrob of an entire generation. By the age of 18, he had already written several global hits, sold over 20 million albums, played stadium tours, shared the stage with Pavarotti and performed at the legendary ‘Michael Jackson & Friends’ concert.
He then took a six-year hiatus and lived in silence as a monk in a monastery in France before returning to the music business with an even bigger solo career than before.
His latest solo album, ‘iD’, spent 70 weeks in the charts with radio hits such as “iD” and ‘Roundabouts’ and went platinum. The accompanying tour attracted 500,000 visitors. The charismatic, passionate musician is a natural talent both on stage and on television, and has participated as a coach on ‘The Voice of Germany’ and hosted the popular TV show ‘Sing meinen Song’ several times.
