Atlanta’s Freshest R&B Singer-Songwriter Uses His Incisive Pen to Craft a Heady and Immersive Album About the Highs and Lows of Love.

Chase Shakur’s keen songwriting unravels the complexities of modern love, communicating vast emotions with economical turns of phrase. Today, the Atlanta native officially announces WONDERLOVE, his next album, an exploration of love’s highs and lows, delivered in Chase’s immersive and atmospheric R&B style. Populated by shimmering synths and subsonic bass, WONDERLOVE is designed to overwhelm the senses like the early stages of lust, while Chase’s delicate vocals hint at the fragility of romantic feeling. With the full tracklist to be announced, WONDERLOVE arrives on February 7th via Def Jam Recordings and is currently available for pre-order.

“WONDERLOVE is the best work my team and I have created so far,” says Chase Shakur. “This album is an exploration of love in all its forms, with each track offering a unique perspective and feeling. Chase prepared his fans for WONDERLOVE by releasing a series of sterling singles from the project to close out 2024. In September, Chase dug deep into his psyche with the haunting “LIMERENCE,” praised by UPROXX, BET, Rated R&B, and more. He followed “LIMERENCE” with the spritely “2OfUs,” and its accompanying music video, and most recently, he shared the lush and seductive “FOCUS ON ME.”

WONDERLOVE continues Chase Shakur’s run as one of the most exciting R&B artists in Atlanta and beyond. He started his rise in 2022, after dropping out of school to focus on music and getting kicked out of his house in the process. He quickly found success with his 2022 debut project, It’ll Be Fine, home to cult hits like “too far close” (38 million Spotify streams) and “i don’t want to fall in love, it’s too late now” (35.3 million Spotify streams), which drew the attention of Def Jam Recordings. In 2023, Chase capitalized on that album’s success by releasing the it’s not you, it’s me EP, and its companion, it’s not you, it’s me…it’s love, earning him praise from outlets like Billboard, Office Magazine, Lyrical Lemonade, and more.

2024 was a busy one for Chase Shakur, filled with new singles and high-profile performances. In March, just before performing at Rolling Stone’s Future Of Music Showcase at SXSW, Chase shared “THE STUNT-MAN PACK,” a double single featuring “YOLANDA,” an airy, uptempo, and wistful club anthem, and the off-kilter slow jam “OPTIONS.” Over the summer, Chase toured the globe with The Kid LAROI on the Australian artist’s “The First Time Tour.”

Chase Shakur
is a 23-year-old Alternative R&B artist from Atlanta, Georgia. A rapper turned singer, he began doing underground cyphers around East Atlanta before finding his melodic and breathy sound. Chase has managed to blend the production of modern day R&B with 90s-sounding vocals and rap-like songwriting. Chase Shakur is one of our newly signed acts that came into the building hot. Chase released his first project “It’ll Be Fine” that caused a lot of attention in the industry. His two notable songs off that project are: “Too Far Close” and “Honda Civic ‘98”. “It’ll be Fine” is the 1st installment to Chase’s trilogy, which he’d describe as “the long break up”. It’s now our turn in leading the way to Chase’s music. “sink or swim” is the 1st single released off Chase’s debut project on Def Jam “it’s not you, it’s me”. “it’s not you, it’s me” is the 2nd installment to the trilogy where Chase goes through the motions of realizing he’s not ready for a relationship. Chase doesn’t want to live in the “toxic” era space, he feels it’s corny and doesn’t want the reputation as such. He calls his music “honest music”, where he’s able to come to terms on where he stands in his relationship. The VISION: The vision for Chase is to grow him in the R&B space and eventually as the new face of R&B. Chase has a passion for fashion so leaning and building him in that space as a respected figure is also a part of the long-term vision.
