Info for Atacama
The piano notes and the voice of Clélya Abraham pierce the veil of the celestial vault and create a path between the intimate and the universal, bringing with them a whirlwind of rhythms, melodies and harmonies. In Atacama , her second album inspired by the desert of the same name, we come across stars, the lands of her ancestors and musical stories nourished by African sources, jazz, samba, gwoka, maloya, sega, nu soul.
Surrounded by her faithful double bassist Samuel F'hima, with a powerful and inventive groove, she is joined by Jean-Baptiste Loutte who adds an intense and organic rhythmic foundation and by guitarist Kévin Lazakis, who, in addition to his phrasing as expressive as it is percussive, brings a mastered touch of sound effects. Flirting with the infinite and the intimate, developing an open, virtuoso and inventive jazz, Clélya Abraham delivers a rich and generous work with a profoundly positive message.
