Info for Tribute To Calvin Russell

Talented musicians come together at the crossroads to pay tribute to a legend of American country blues.

Calvin Russell and France, that's quite a story, if not history with a capital H. Spotted singing his compositions by a French producer in the corner of a club in Austin, Texas, it took several albums produced in France before his talent was recognised at home.

Tour after tour, album after album, it was in Europe that he blossomed (he played 178 concerts in Europe during his 1994 tour).

Today, on both sides of the Atlantic, the songs of the late wanderer with Comanche origins continue to take listeners on a journey.

The blues, rock and country music of CharlElie Couture, Popa Chubby, Axel Bauer, Gérard Lanvin, Johnny Gallagher, Hugh Coltman, Théo Charaf, Beverly Jo Scott, Craig Walker, Fred Chapellier, David Minster, Neal Black, Boney Fields and Haylen have all been invited to take part in this adventure.

"Anyone who loved, listened to or saw the great Calvin Russell in concert will love [this] magical and poignant tribute. A big well done to all the artists who pay this magnificent tribute to a talented songwriter who died too soon." (RockMétalMag)
