Info for Here We Go
This album is the result of six years I’ve spent in Canada- years of studying with some of the country’s greatest jazz musicians and collaborating with artists throughout British Columbia. In that time, I’ve been fortunate not only to grow as a musician, but to make lasting friendships- people I can now say are my family. When it came time to record my first record, it felt only natural to bring those friends into the studio with me. Together, we have created a project that reflects the hard work, respect , love and dedication that has been poured into this music- the music of Jazz, of Black American tradition. The tunes you will hear on this record are ones that mean something to me personally. They involve standards that shaped my understanding of the tradition or arrangements I hold close as well as a few original compositions from my fantastic and down to earth bandmates. In that sense, this album is both a reflection of my journey and a tribute to the great work of the bebop masters who inspired me. Most of all, it is about connection: to the music, to the people who shared the journey with me and to the listener. (Arvind Ramdas)

Arvind Ramdas
is a jazz drummer and composer, and a graduate of Capilano University, currently based in Vancouver, Canada. He has quickly established himself as one of the city’s most in-demand and consistently busy drummers. For this performance, Ramdas is joined by longtime collaborator and JUNO Award–nominated composer and pianist Noah Franche Nolan, alongside David Caballero, a standout and formidable bassist who has been a trusted companion on the bandstand for years. Together, the trio presents a hard-hitting, swinging program of piano trio arrangements drawn from the music of Bud Powell, Ahmad Jamal, and Cedar Walton—three artists whose work has profoundly shaped Ramdas’s rhythmic concept, melodic sensibility, and driving approach behind the drums.
