Pierre Solot
Born in Brussels in 1983. Pianist, lecturer, radio host, teacher, actor and author, Pierre Solot gives concerts in Europe and Asia (Belgium, France, United Kingdom, Iran, etc.). In addition to his many solo, chamber music and orchestral concerts, he has taken part in a number of theatrical projects with actor Emmanuel De Candido, as musician, actor and composer (Novecento pianiste by Alessandro Baricco, Comme une larme sur un sourire by Pierre Solot, Un Fleuve à la frontière by Emmanuel De Candido, Exils 1914 by Compagnie MAPS...). He performed in and designed the show Cinéma à 4 mains (Théâtre Royal de Namur). A graduate of the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles and the Centre Européen de Maîtrise Pianistique Eduardo Del Pueyo, he studied with V. Delemazure, Teresa Escudero, Burkard Spinnler and Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden. He was awarded first prize in piano and chamber music, as well as a Master's degree in piano. Pierre Solot also holds a degree in Musicology from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris. He gives lectures, publishes articles and works regularly with the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège. He is also the author of the novel La balade de Stiva Leko, which won 1st prize in the Editions oléronaises 'first novel' competition in 2011, and is now published by that publishing house.
