Filipe Pinto-Ribeiro presents a musical triptych that brings together Tchaikovsky's The Seasons, Piazzolla's Four Seasons of Buenos Aires and Carrapatoso's Four Last Seasons of Lisbon. Since ancient times, the theme of the seasons has fascinated and inspired the human creative spirit. Piano Seasons explores this theme across three countries and three centuries.

Filipe Pinto-Ribeiro
is one of the most respected Portuguese artists, internationally renowned, performing regularly in the concert halls worldwide. His performances are praised for their passionate and intellectual qualities.

Originally from Porto, after studies in several countries, he studied at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory under the tutelage of Professor Liudmila Roshchina, holding of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Scholarship. These studies culminated in 2000 with a Doctorate in Musical Performance, an award with the highest distinction.

Playing the whole spectrum of the piano repertoire, from the Baroque to Contemporary, he has premiered many works in Portugal by composers such as Haydn, Dvorák, Shostakovich, Nisinman and Gubaidulina (the Concert for Piano and Orchestra “Introitus” was praised by the composer herself as its best performance).

As a soloist, he is frequently invited by the most important Portuguese orchestras and also from other countries such as Russia, Spain, Slovakia, Armenia, Belgium or Cuba, collaborating with conductors J. Nelson, D. Liss, E. Pomàrico, M. Agrest, Ch. Olivieri-Munroe, P. Tilling, B. Dawidow, R. Gökmen, M. Tardue and M. Rachlevsky, among others.

A passionate musician, he has performed regularly with outstanding musicians such as G. Caussé, R. Capuçon, M. Portal, G. Hoffman, Ph. Graffin, Ch. Poltéra, C. Cerovsek, P. Moraguès, E. Nebolsin, T. Samouil, L. A. Tomter, A. Brendel, A. Samuil and J. Van Dam.

Filipe is the artistic director of the DSCH - Schostakovich Ensemble, which performs across Europe and has recorded for Mezzo channel. He has made several recordings, featuring works by Bach, Scarlatti, Seixas, Beethoven, Wagner, Debussy, Ravel, Mussorgsky, Scriabin, Prokofiev, Schostakovich, etc.

Filipe Pinto-Ribeiro is often invited as artistic director of music festivals. He is the artistic and pedagogical director of “Summer Classic” – Lisbon International Music Academy. Besides his busy performing career, Filipe has been Piano Professor for the last decade at some Portuguese Universities and frequently gives master-classes.
