Paweł Jabłczyński
Double bass player, composer, author of numerous transcriptions and arrangements. A graduate of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław in the class of the legendary Professor Tadeusz Górny. He supplemented his education at the Hochschule der Kȕnste Bern, where he completed his third degree studies under Rinat Ibragimov and Ruslan Lutsyk in 2014.
In 2015/2016 he was a double bassist with the Sȁchsische Staatskapelle Dresden. He has collaborated with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, NFM Orchestra Leopoldinum, Chain Ensemble, Baltic Neopolis Orchestra, Berlin Philharmonic Academy Orchestra.
As a soloist he has performed with the Berner Symphony Orchestra, InterCamerata Orchestra, R-20 Chamber Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra of the Academy of Music in Wrocław.
Since 2006 professionally connected with the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław. In 2018 he was awarded the title of Doctor of Arts. He has a passion for original double bass transcriptions. In January 2021, the Anagram publishing house released the album 'Karłowicz. Songs', recorded with Justyna Skoczek and Bartosz Porczyk. It is the only release that contains all 23 preserved songs by Karłowicz.
Justyna Skoczek
Born in Głogów, she is an opera repetiteur and pianist. She graduated from Wrocław Music Academy, where she studied with Prof Włodzimierz Obidowicz (diploma 2003).
From 2003-2012 Justyna worked for the Wrocław Opera as repetiteur and soloist, participating in almost every production, and especially in the premieres and world premieres of Polish operas of the 20th and 21st centuries – Szymanowski’s King Roger, Penderecki’s Paradise Lost, Knapik’s La libertà chiama la libertà, Krauze’s The Trap, and Duchnowski Martha’s Garden.
Justyna Skoczek is now a freelance musician, collaborating with the Wrocław Opera, the Grand Theatre in Łódź, the Warsaw National Opera, the Grand Theatre in Poznań, and the Teatr Polski in Wrocław, where in 2016 she worked on Mickiewicz’s Dziady directed by Michał Zadara.
Justyna Skoczek also enjoys collaborations with players and singers performing chamber music of the 20th and 21st centuries. In the Square Music Trio, established in 2014, with soprano Ewa Vesin and double bassist Paweł Jabłczyński she performs a repertoire encompassing works by Giovanni Bottesini and their own transcriptions of other composers.
Since 2001 she has lectured at Wrocław Music Academy, where she has also received her PhD degree.
