Kjorstad Brothers

Biographie Kjorstad Brothers

Kjorstad Brothers
Hans and Rasmus Kjorstad come from Fron in Gudbrandsdalen. They are fiddlers of the young Norwegian folk music generation and share a common ideal of playing traditional music from the Fron area in a groovy, unpolished and wonderful manner. The brothers have been playing this music since an early age, and have a great grip on the style. They have also started to add the somewhat ancient sounds of the Norwegian dulcimer, different flutes, jew’s harp and vocals in their arrangement of the old song material. Through improvisation and story telling, they aim to open it up for new audiences. Since the release of their debut album Pusinshi Ulla in October 2016, they have recieved great reviews. Now playing major folk music clubs and festivals as a duo and togheter with top class artists such as Anders Erik Røine, Hans Hulbækmo and Torgeir Vassvik, the brothers are an important act to catch on the evolving Norwegian folk music scene.
