Zilliacus
Cecilia Zilliacus, violin, Johanna Persson, viola and Kati Raitinen, cello, are constantly exploring the compelling string trio repertoire, seeking as well to expand it by commissioning works. As one of its current projects, the trio has commissoned pieces by the composers Anders Eliasson and Tommie Haglund. The trio frequently collaborates with other chamber musicians in forming various quartets and other ensembles. It has played with Bengt Forsberg, Per Tengstrand, Mikael Helasvuo, Kathryn Stott, Martti Rousi and Martin Fröst, among others.

In addition to its own concert projects, the trio has performed at a variety of chamber music festivals. In Sweden, it has been a guest at the Lappland, Junsele, Båstad, Linköping and Grythyttan festivals, as well as at the special music events ”Tengstrand 06” in Växjö and ”MADE in Umeå” in Umeå. It has also played at the Åland, Åbo and Korsholm festivals in Finland and at Bergen and Kristiansand (PUNKT) in Norway. ZilliacusPerssonRaitinen is a recurring guest at the All Saints Church Chamber Music Festival in Stockholm.

In the last few seasons the trio has performed in Finland, Denmark, Spain and England, (London). The current season will bring it to the same countries as well as to Switzerland.

The trio is nominated to the Nordic Council´s Music Prize 2013. The trio was awarded the Kurt Persson Cultural Prize in November 2009.

In the summer of 2004, Caprice released the trio’s recording of Bach’s Goldberg Variations in an arrangement for string trio (CAP 21695). The trio was awarded a Swedish Grammy for the record in February 2005.

In the autumn of 2004, Swedish Television broadcast a studio performance by the trio of the Variations. The program is available on DVD (CAP 21772).

ZilliacusPerssonRaitinen’s recording of Hermann Berens’ three string trios was released on Intim Musik in May 2007 (IMCD 107). Together with pianist Per Tengstrand the trio appears on a cd with various music by Mozart. In January 2010 the cd with the famous Divertimento by Mozart (KV 563) came out and was very warmly received in both national and international media. This cd also received a Swedish Grammy in January 2011.

Since 2007 ZilliacusPerssonRaitinen are artistic directors of their own chamber music series "Äntligen måndag" ("Monday at last") in the Stockholm Concert House. Guests that have appeared in the series are Philippe Graffin, Dmitri Sitkovetsky, Håvard Gimse, Paavali Jumppanen, Dan Laurin, Cuarteto Quiroga among others. The trio has also commissioned several pieces by composers Sven-David Sandström, Fredrik Hedelin, Mirjam Tally, Fredik Österling which appeared on cd 2011. This cd was nominated to a Swedish Grammy.

Beyond their work in the trio, the members of ZilliacusPerssonRaitinen are well established on the Swedish music scene in their own right. Cecilia Zilliacus, the winner of the 1997 Swedish Soloist Awards, is extensively engaged as a soloist and chamber musician across the world. Johanna Persson leads the viola section of the Gothenburg Opera Orchestra and is a member of the contemporary music ensemble Gageego!, in addition to her assignments as a soloist. Kati Raitinen combines her work as solo cellist in the Royal Court Orchestra in Stockholm with broad engagements in domestic and international chamber music.

Oliver Triendl
One can hardly imagine a more devoted champion of neglected and rarely played composers than pianist Oliver Triendl. His tireless commitment – primarily to romantic and contemporary music – is reflected in more than 100 CD recordings. The scope of his repertoire is surely unique, comprising some 90 piano concertos and hundreds of chamber music pieces. In many cases, he was the first to present these works on stage or to commit them to disc.

As a soloist Triendl has performed together with many renowned orchestras. The list includes the Bamberg and Munich Symphonies, Munich Radio Orchestra, Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, NDR Radio Philharmonic, Gürzenich Orchestra, Munich Philharmonic, Staatskapelle Weimar, German Radio Philharmonic, German State Philharmonic of Rhineland-Palatinate, Munich, Southwest German, Stuttgart, Württemberg and Bavarian Radio Chamber Orchestras, Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, Orchestre Symphonique de Bretagne, Mozarteum Orchestra of Salzburg, Tonkunstler Orchestra Vienna, Netherlands Symphony Orchestra, Czech State Philharmonic, Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia, Polish Chamber Philharmonic, Georgian Chamber Orchestra, St.Petersburg Camerata, Zagreb Soloists and Shanghai Symphony Orchestra.

The avid chamber musician has concertized with fellow musicians such as Christian Altenburger, Wolfgang Boettcher, Thomas Brandis, Eduard Brunner, Ana Chumachenko, David Geringas, Clemens Hagen, Frans Helmerson, Hervé Joulain, Isabelle van Keulen, Rainer Kussmaul, François Leleux, Lorin Maazel, Marie Luise Neunecker, Paul Meyer, Sabine and Wolfgang Meyer, Pascal Moraguès, Charles Neidich, Arto Noras, Raphaël Oleg, Gustav Rivinius, Benjamin Schmid, Hagai Shaham, Christian Tetzlaff, Radovan Vlatković, Jan Vogler and Antje Weithaas. He performed with Apollon musagète, Artis, Atrium, Auryn, Carmina, Danel, Gringolts, Keller, Leipzig, Mandelring, Meta4, Minguet, Pražák, Schumann, Sine Nomine, Škampa, Talich and Vogler String Quartets as well as with excellent artists of the younger generation like Nicolas Altstaedt, Claudio Bohórquez, Mirijam Contzen, James Ehnes, Liza Ferschtman, David Grimal, Ilya Gringolts, Alina Ibragimova, Sharon Kam, Henning Kraggerud, Pekka Kuusisto, Johannes Moser, Daniel Müller-Schott, Alina Pogostkina, Christian Poltéra, Alexander Sitkovetsky, Baiba Skride, Valeriy Sokolov, Carolin and Jörg Widmann.

Triendl, a native of Mallersdorf, Bavaria, where he was born in 1970, and a prizewinner at many national and international competitions, studied under Rainer Fuchs, Karl-Heinz Diehl, Eckart Besch, Gerhard Oppitz and Oleg Maisenberg. He has concertized with success at festivals and in many of Europe’s major music centers as well as in North and South America, South Africa, Russia and Asia.
