Biographie Zodiac Trio
The Zodiac Trio
has captivated audiences across three continents for nearly two decades. Renowned for their inventive programs, exceptional virtuosity, and infectious energy, the ensemble has established itself as one of the foremost clarinet-violin-piano trios in the world.
From their early debut on WQXR’s Young Artist Showcase at Merkin Concert Hall in New York City in 2006 to becoming the first American group—and the first with a wind instrument—accepted into the Ysaÿe Quartet’s prestigious chamber music program at the Paris Conservatory, the Zodiac Trio’s success has been hard-earned and enduring. Their achievements include prizes from the Cziffra Foundation, FNAPEC Chamber Music Competition, and several international competitions, solidifying their status in the chamber music world.
Since then, the Zodiac Trio has performed across over 40 U.S. states, as well as in Canada, Sweden, Scotland, France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Japan, and over 30 cities in China during four extensive tours. Their live performances have been broadcast by leading media outlets, including France 3 Television, CBC Radio, CCTV News, WQXR, WNYC, WFMT, WGBH, Italy’s RAI, and Radio France, among others.
Dedicated advocates for contemporary music, the Trio premiered a new work at their debut concert and has since commissioned 30+ pieces, including from Grammy-winning composer Richard Danielpour. They have also hosted calls-for-scores that have resulted in over 100 new compositions being written for the ensemble.
