Linda Suolahti
One of Finland's most interesting solo violinists, Linda Suolahti, is seen as a significant trendsetter in Finnish art music, having impressed with her courage as an organizer of events and as an artistic director. She is currently based in Helsinki and enjoys a versatile career as a guest leader and chamber musician, regularly invited to play in some of the world's leading music festivals and concert halls.

Since 2016, Linda has led a chamber music festival, Kokonainen/Musequal, which highlights mainly unknown and forgotten female composers and composers representing minorities.

2023 Linda recorded her debut album on the leading Finnish label Alba Records. The album contains unrecorded Finnish works by female composers. Alba Records releases the album in October.

Linda has also made an impressive career in the orchestra field, appearing as a leader and concertmaster of numerous orchestras crossing continents, specializing in leading an orchestra without a conductor.

From 2017 to 2020, Linda held a concertmaster position in the Lapland Chamber Orchestra. Besides that, she has appeared as a guest leader in the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra, National Arts Centre Orchestra (Canada), Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra, Harbin Symphony Orchestra (China), Finnish National Opera Orchestra, and Lohja City Orchestra orchestras, among others. Linda is enjoying her career as a freelancer, occasionally joining world-leading chamber orchestras such as the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, and O/Modernt Chamber Orchestra.

Linda has performed as a soloist under Ari Angervo’s, Tomas Djupsjöbacka’s, John Storgård’s, Eero Lehtimäki’s, and Reinhard Goebel’s baton with different ensembles. It is not rare that she will also appear as a soloist leading the orchestra simultaneously.

As an enthusiastic chamber musician, Linda has performed in various music festivals and other smaller occasions in Finland and abroad together with the most incredible artists such as Alena Baeva, Vadym Kholodenko, Guy Braunstein, Jennifer Stumm, John Storgårds, Malin Broman, Roland Pöntinen, Sergey Malov, Patrick Gallois, Olli Mustonen, Priya Mitchell, Pekka Kuusisto in chamber music festivals like ClasClas (Spain), Our Festival (Finland), Kuhmo Chamber Music (Finland), Festival des Rencontres Musicales de Figeac (France), Summer Lunchtime Concerts (Music Centre, Finland), Naantali Music Festival (Finland) among many others.

2019 Linda graduated with distinction from Sibelius Academy, where she has been studying with Minna Pensola (Meta4) and Jaakko Ilves. In 2015, she attended the Master of Performance program at the Royal College of Music in London, where she was honored to study as an Emma Rose Memorial Scholar.
