Info zu UNDERWORLD

A dark pop tale of death and rebirth: Daisy DeVell is a Liverpool-born singer, songwriter and internationally acclaimed former burlesque performer, ranked #24 worldwide. Daisy is stepping into a new chapter, swapping the tassels for a microphone and finally pursuing her original dream of becoming a music artist.

Her Saturn Return sparked an awakening and a desire to tell her stories through song. Miss Baby Daisy was metaphorically laid to rest, making way for Daisy DeVell. Bold, unapologetic and fiercely individual.

Daisy signed to established UK independent label Freshly Squeezed Music during its 20th anniversary year. From pioneering the electro swing zeitgeist in the 2010s, recognised by Mixmag, to championing genres such as electro blues, the Brighton-based label has built a reputation for discovering distinctive sounds and artists ahead of the curve.

Daisy is their latest signing. Over the past 18 months, she has been developing and curating a body of work that brings together her love of music, performance and storytelling. The result is UNDERWORLD, her debut album, set for release on 16 October 2026.

UNDERWORLD Daisy's debut album tells the story of transformation and self-discovery through a world of fantasy, glamour and theatrical escapism.

Exploring identity, self-acceptance, reinvention, desire, heartbreak, death and rebirth, the album draws on Daisy's love of cabaret, jazz and classic showbiz to create something dark, glamorous and entirely her own.

UNDERWORLD marks the beginning of Daisy DeVell's musical journey.

With over a decade of glamour under her belt, Daisy felt it was time to pull her stockings up and create her biggest production to date.

Daisy DeVell

Daisy DeVell
A born entertainer from Liverpool with a deep passion for all things showbiz. Touring the globe as a burlesque artist, dazzling audiences with her signature old Hollywood style and charismatic charm. Her impact on the scene earned her a place among the Top 3 Most Influential Burlesque Performers in the UK, and she was ranked #24 worldwide in 2024.

Now swapping tassels for a microphone, Daisy is ready to share her journey of evolution, artistry, and fearless self-expression. Breathing new life into classic entertainment, she fuses electro swing, cabaret and pop into a bold, genre-blending sound crafted for the modern age.

Daisy’s debut is released with This Is Freshly Squeezed, the UK-based independent label (celebrating 20 years in 2025), that helped shape the Electro Swing genre into a global movement. Known for its distinctive curation of vintage-meets-modern sounds. Daisy’s dramatic reinvention—an artistic rebirth following the metaphorical “murder” of her former burlesque persona, Miss Baby Daisy.

Leaving behind the feathers and fanfare of her past, she steps into a new era with a bold voice and vivid vision, turning cabaret into confessional and glamour into empowerment. With cheeky hooks, bold brass, and noir-tinged storytelling, this is a dazzling tale of transformation, told one swing at a time. Daisy will be working with established Freshly Squeezed producer Joe Rodwell (Mista Trick, Sonia Elisheva, Elle & The Pocket Belles). Watch this space for more…!
