Hamburg hard rockers VELVET RUSH give their debut EP a second life with an expanded Frontiers edition, adding two fresh tracks to the original five-song set. It is dirty, bluesy and gloriously loud — classic ’70s hard rock dragged into the present with Sandra Lian’s untamed voice right at the center.

Originally recorded at Chameleon Studios with producer Eike Freese, “Euphonia” introduced a band clearly in love with the golden age of hard rock but unwilling to simply dress up in somebody else’s old clothes. The guitars are warm and muscular, the rhythm section swings, and the songs are built around hooks rather than retro decoration.

The title track remains the perfect introduction: swaggering, melodic and just rough enough around the edges. “No Way Back” hits harder, pushing the guitars forward with a stronger sense of urgency, while “Fire Spirit” lives up to its name with a fiery riff and one of Sandra Lian’s most commanding performances.

“Leave It All Behind” brings a little more space into the EP, letting the melody breathe before “Aurora” stretches beyond six minutes and shows a more expansive side of the band. It is the original EP’s biggest piece, moving with more patience and atmosphere than the shorter rockers around it.

The 2026 edition adds “Nature Of The Beast”, a compact hard rocker with a sharp chorus and plenty of attitude, plus “The Sound Of Letting Go”, a faster, more modern cut built around change, self-belief and cutting loose from whatever is holding you back.

Those two additions make the reissue feel less like a simple catalogue move and more like a bridge between the band’s first chapter and whatever comes next. The old songs bring the smoke and vintage amp heat; the new ones show VELVET RUSH tightening the screws without losing the groove.

Recorded at the legendary Chameleon Studios in Hamburg with acclaimed producer Eike Freese (Deep Purple, Slash, Simple Minds, Status Quo), VELVET RUSH blend catchy melodies, powerful guitars, and authentic rock energy into an electrifying modern sound.

The band gained international attention with their debut single “Euphonia,” which was named “Best Rock Song of the Week” by Classic Rock Magazine UK in October 2024.

On September 25, 2025, VELVET RUSH released their highly anticipated debut album Trail of Gold, receiving praise from leading rock magazines including Classic Rock Magazine, ROCKS Magazine, and Rock Hard, where the album was featured as “Tip of the Month” and “Tip of the Year.” Their track “Shake That Thing” was also featured on the official Classic Rock Magazine CD sampler.

VELVET RUSH quickly established themselves as a must-see live act, performing with Jerry Cantrell (Alice In Chains), touring Europe with Icelandic retro rockers The Vintage Caravan, and appearing at major festivals including Rockharz Festival in 2025.

In 2026, the band continues its rise with appearances at Wacken Open Air, Maid of Stone Festival (UK), Riverside Festival (CH), Osteguna Rock Vital Fest (ES), and as special guest on the final European tour of Australian rock legends Rose Tattoo.

With their second album already in the works, more exciting milestones and major live shows are already lined up for 2027, proving that VELVET RUSH are only getting started. Classic rock spirit still burns bright here — louder, dirtier, and more alive than ever.
