'(...) the prevailing atmosphere of the album speaks of chamber jazz and contemporary music arranged from the depths of the instruments rising up flavoured by free jazz and sometimes practically vandalised by Ducret’s explosive use of electricity and the anarchic squalls of the brass. (...) Peirani, when he cuts loose, is the runaway element in the band, and again broadens the band’s appeal in bursts.' (Stephen Graham, Marlbank.net)

Journal Intime
Founded in 2006, French trio Journal Intime performs ensemble music as well as improvised music of rare complexity. They travel with total freedom among non-labelled music forms executing original compositions and daring arrangements; bringing a unique experience through a sound field, which seems unlimited. They are musical partners to renowned French artists such as Jacques Higelin, André Minvielle, Fred Pallem & Le Sacre Du Tympan, Denis Charolles & La Campagnie Des Musiques à Ouïr, Eric Lareine and first class musician Tony Hymas ... and have collaborated with Rodolphe Burger, Marc Ducret and Vincent Peirani. Graced with formidable technique, boundless energy and a courageous sense of adventure, they roam the European jazz scene performing a wild music which dances, sings, whispers and screams with a jubilant and conspiring insistence: an electrifying ode to acoustic music.

For over 30 years guitarist Marc Ducret has been pursuing an atypical path, which has made him one of the most internationally famed French guitarist. He has performed with top-class artists such as Larry Schneider, Michel Portal, Joachim Kuhn, Miroslav Vitous, Django Bates, David Sanborn, Joey Baron and many more. The New Yorkers (Tim Berne, Herb Robertson, Hank Roberts) have chosen him as their favourite guitarist. At the cutting-edge of avant-garde Ducret is an outstanding improviser and an artist who shows his best on stage, whether it be in solo or in an ensemble setting.

At only 31, French accordionist Vincent Peirani has already established his position as one of the genre’s leading voices. He is a fascinating artist with amazing virtuosity, walking on a tightrope between jazz and classical music. From La Campagnie des musiques à Ouïr to Roberto Alagna, from Daniel Humair to Laurent Korcia, Youn Sun Nah, Michel Portal, Renaud Garcia-Fons and even French pop star Sanseverino, in a few months after his first ACT album, Vincent Peirani has become one of the most sought-after accordionists.
