Exhorder sind zurück! Mit ihrem 1990er Debütklassiker »Slaughter In The Vatican« und dem zwei Jahre später erschienenen »The Law«, ebnete die Formation aus New Orleans den Weg für eine Menge Groove- und Hardcore-orientierte Thrash-Bands, wie z.B. PANTERA, MACHINE HEAD oder LAMB OF GOD. Ihr Sound war stets roh, brutal, massiv und im positiven Sinne hässlich. Seit 2017 werden die beiden Urmitglieder Kyle Thomas (Gesang) und Vinnie La Bella (Gitarre) nun von Jason VieBrooks (Bass, HEATHEN), Sasha Horn (Drums, FORBIDDEN) und Marzi Montazeri (Gitarre, ex-SUPERJOINT RITUAL) komplettiert und hämmerten in dieser All-Star-Besetzung den langersehnten dritten EXHORDER-Longplayer ein. „Das Album enthält 27 Jahre altes Material, aber auch Songs, die erst vor sechs Monaten oder irgendwann dazwischen geschrieben worden sind. In diesem langen Zeitraum sind viele Dinge passiert, die nun hierauf münden“, verrät Saitenhexer La Bella und ist hörbar stolz auf das von Jens Bogren (AMORPHIS u.a.) produzierte Werk. „Dies ist, zum allerersten Mal in unserer Karriere, ein Album, wie wir es unseren Fans wirklich geben wollten: Produktion, Sound, Artwork - alles ist vorhanden, ohne jegliche Abstriche!

"Mit ihren zwei Alben, „Slaughter in the Vatican“ (1990) sowie „The law“ (1992), haben sich Exhorder aus New Orleans in den Geschichtsbüchern des Thrash Metals für immer verewigt, bevor sie sich auflösten. Beide Alben gelten als Wegbereiter des sogenannten Groove-orientierten Thrash Metal, der später von Machine Head und Pantera auf ein neues Level gehieft wurde. Seit 2008 ist die Band wieder aktiv und hat gerade live immer wieder verbrannte Erde hinter sich gelassen. Mit einem neuen Line-Up und einem neuen Albumdeal liegt nun das langersehnte dritte Album vor. Exhorder haben immer noch Biss und eine kreative Kraft, der man sich nur schwerlich entziehen kann. Das neue Material hat trotz einer eigenen Note doch etwas mehr Verbindung zum Sound der Bay Area, als die frühen Alben. Und dennoch holen einen fiese Thrash Metal-Bomben wie „Beware the wolf“, „All she wrote“ oder „Ripping flesh“ umgehend ab. Exhorder
is an American thrash metal band from New Orleans, Louisiana formed in 1985 by a group of friends who wanted to break out of the hardcore scene and had a passion for the heaviest music in the world. They are considered to be the progenitors of the groove-oriented thrash sound that would later come to dominate the scene. Coming after years of demos, their debut LP Slaughter In The Vatican (1990) was regarded as a major influence on the NOLA metal scene and saw them rapidly rise on the world stage as one of the defining thrash acts of their generation. Their second (and to date, last album) The Law was released in 1992 and adopted more of a groove metal sound. It saw the band reach their peak of popularity, but unfortunately bad luck and external pressures lead to the demise of the group in 1994.

With the underground maintaining a steadfast dedication to the band, Exhorder have since reunited with the lineup from The Law on several occasions. With these reunions they have played Maryland Deathfest, Rock Hard, and countless others. The reunion was cut short in 2011 with the untimely passing of their classic-era bassist Frankie Sparcello. Now the band is back, reunited and hungrier than ever, ready to take on the world. With a boatload of festival dates on the way along with select club shows, the New Orleans boys are here to show the world once more what it takes to thrash it up.
