Info zu Mozart: Adagio & Fugue in C Minor, K. 546 – Beethoven: String Quartet No. 15 in A Minor, Op. 132
Montreal-based string quartet Voxpopuli makes its ATMA debut with a new digital-only release of two gems of the chamber music repertoire from the classical era: Mozart’s Adagio and Fugue in C minor, often acclaimed as one of his most striking and daringly personal works, and Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 15, Op. 132, which the composer considered one of the works most worthy of his name.
The Voxpopuli string quartet comprises Antoine Bareil, first violin, Uliana Drugova, second violin, Bojana Milinov, viola, and Ioav Bronchti, cello. These four accomplished musicians have been playing together for four years. With its Concerts Voxpopuli series, the quartet reaches audiences through formats that are less formal than traditional classical concert; Voxpopuli’s motto is le classique libre.
