TOYTOY sind vier Musik-Virtuosen auf einem gut gelaunten Haufen. Zusammen bilden sie einen Katalysator für Einflüsse von Frank Zappa und Weather Report bis zu J Dilla und Terrace Martin. Ganz nach dem Vorbild amerikanischer Musik-Kollektive wie Soulquarians oder The Roots sehen sich TOYTOY als kreativer Impulsgeber und Möglichmacher für die Fusion aus Jazz und Urban Music wie Soul und Rap. Dieses Kunststück ist ihnen auf Ihrem Album „Playdate“ mit zahlreichen Features beeindruckend gelungen.

This Hamburg Musicians Collective delve into a treasure-trove of global experience from the international playground. World-wide tours with acts such as Nils Landgren, Maria Joao, Chet Faker, Fünf Sterne Delux/Das Bo, Flo Mega, JRBB, Matthias Schriefl, Fiva, Urban Academy and Wootton’s Toystory indicate the players' eclectic cartography.

Now they calibrate their instruments afresh for their own musical expedition. The parameters are the freedom of jazz, the variety of urban sub-cultures, boundless technique and incorrigible creativity.
