graduated from the Conservatorio di S. Pietro a Majella in Naples. At the same time as his classical studies, he specialised in jazz guitar, following seminars with Jerry Bergonzi, Mike Stern and Jim Hall. After a period of concert activity (chamber music and solo performances), he finally embarked on the road to jazz by participating in various festivals. He also delved into acoustic guitar by studying the country and Irish tradition. He undertook a touring activity by collaborating in the musical production of the Diana theatre with the late Antonio Sorrentino. He took up the classical tradition, undertaking the baroque repertoire in Germany and at the Marseille Festival. He worked with the Cimarosa group, taking care of the composition and arrangements of songs, also collaborating with James Senese and Enzo Gragnaniello and taking part in national programmes such as "Domenica in" and "Maurizio Costanzo".
Rocco Di Maiolo
a musician and arranger. He lives in an area marked by the rhythm of folk music, that has influenced my music. It has allowed him to identify myself as a Neapolitan jazz saxophonist.
He studied at the conservatories Cimarosa (Avellino) and San Pietro a Maiella (Naples). Due to the song “Terra di Tutti”, his composition, and “Biricchinata”, a revision of a folk tune, in 2004 he won the Best Performance prize among the bands in Campania at the 4th edition of the up-and-coming Young Music Festival. Then he also won the 5th edition of the national competition “Chicco Bettinardi” in 2008.
Currently he actively collaborate with various television stations (Rai uno, Rai due, Italia uno and private broadcasters) and in December 2010 he published his first work record, called “Terra di Tutti”. Throughout his career he has done lots of artistic collaborations, including Alberto D’anna, Dario Deidda, Pietro Condorelli etc. Currently, he’s also a teacher at musical high school and collaborate with many professionals in the Italian and Campania panorama!
