Ronaldo Miranda ist ein mehrfach ausgezeichneter brasilianischer Komponist, dessen Werke von führenden Künstlern und Institutionen in Auftrag gegeben wurden. Seine Musik wird regelmäßig an renommierten Veranstaltungsorten in Brasilien und auf der ganzen Welt aufgeführt. Mirandas Klavierkonzert ist eine virtuose Mischung aus Atonalität und Anklängen an Bartók, die im Kontrast zu den fließenden Skalen und zarten Mustern des Concertino steht. Das preisgekrönte „Horizontes“ ist eine symphonische Dichtung, die die Geschichte von Christoph Kolumbus' Reise in die Neue Welt erzählt, während „Variações Temporais“ („Beethoven Revisitado“) eine einfallsreiche Reihe von Variationen über einige der berühmtesten Motive und Themen von Ludwig van Beethoven ist. Eduardo Monteiro gilt als einer der größten Pianisten der brasilianischen Szene und erlangte internationale Anerkennung, nachdem er 1989 beim Internationalen Klavierwettbewerb in Köln den ersten Preis und den Sonderpreis der Jury für die beste Beethoven-Interpretation gewonnen hatte. Fabio Mechetti ist seit der Gründung des Orchesters dessen künstlerischer Leiter und Chefdirigent. Unter seiner Leitung hat das Orchester zahlreiche Auszeichnungen erhalten, neun Alben aufgenommen und eine Tournee durch Südamerika unternommen. Er ist Chefdirigent des Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra und leitete 14 Jahre lang das Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, dessen Ehrendirigent er heute ist.

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Monteiro is recognized by critics as one of the greatest representatives of the Brazilian piano scene.

He has performed on important stages in Brazil and around the world, such as the Wigmore Hall in London, the Great Hall of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, the Philharmonie in Cologne, the Gasteig in Munich, the Sala Verdi in Milan, the Parc of the Chateau de Florans in La Roque d’Anthéron, the Liceo in Barcelona, the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, the National Concert Hall in Dublin and the Jordan Hall in Boston.

He has been a soloist with the main orchestras in Brazil and with renowned orchestras abroad, including the Philharmonics of Saint Petersburg, Moscow, Munich, Bremen, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, the Symphony of Novosibirsky, the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland and the Symphony Orchestra of Spanish Radio and Television, with conductors such as Yuri Temirkanov, Mariss Jansons, Dimitri Kitayenko, Philippe Entremont, Arnold Katz, Sergiu Comisiona , Emil Tabakov, Kirk Trevor and Asher Fisch.

He won 1st prize at the Third International Piano Competition in Cologne, Germany (1989) and was a laureate at the Dublin (1991) and Santander (1992) Competitions.

He received the Carlos Gomes Music Prize in Brazil in 2004 and 2005.

He holds a bachelor’s degree (1987) and a master’s degree (1993) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro; doctorate in musicology from the Sorbonne University (2000); he studied in Italy at the Fondazione Internazionale per il Pianoforte, on Lake Como (1996-97); and in 2002, he obtained an Artist Diploma from the New England Conservatory in Boston with Wha-Kyung Byun.

He is a Full Professor in the Music Department of the School of Communications and Arts of the University of São Paulo.

Between 2008 and 2010 he was a member of the Music Advisory Board of the Council of Culture of the State of São Paulo.

He was director of the Symphony Orchestra of the University of São Paulo, vice-president of the Commission of Academic Activities and of the Commission of Permanent Evaluation of the USP, director of the School of Communications and Arts of the University of São Paulo and, currently, Cultural Director of the Maria Luisa and Oscar Americano Foundation.
