Sky Blue Piano is the second album from British composer and pianist Adrian Lord. He continues his interest in the connection of music and colour to paint different moods and styles, choosing the colour Sky Blue as a bright uplifting one. As with his debut, "Journey - Twelve Romances for Piano", this album of new pieces were recorded on the Steinway at Crear House in Western Scotland, with its inspirational views of Jura, and produced by Phil Hobbs.

At age 6 years I started to learn to play the Piano. I have been writing music for as long as I can remember. Whilst my father would have preferred me to study law or medicine, it was clear that there was only one thing I was going to do!

I was educated at Stockport Grammar School where I won the Old Stopfordian's Lodge Music Prize. During this time I studied piano with David Smith at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.

My music studies continued at Colchester Institute. Here I studied piano with Martin Hughes, and Robert Bell, and in my final year I won the Canon Jack award for Piano Performance.

Whilst at Colchester, I also studied composition with Alan Bullard, and Christopher Ball, and my compositions began to be featured in their concerts.

My great love is writing and arranging short instrumental music for solo piano, and I am delighted to have released my first two albums "Journey - Twelve Romances for Piano” and “Sky Blue Piano”, which I hope you will enjoy.
