LIFEBLOOD.... Creating and releasing an album is still one of the things I enjoy most.
I love the complete experience of an album — how each track carries its own identity, yet together it becomes something larger: a collage of emotions, energies, grooves, and musical directions. A multicultural blend of musical journeys woven into one story.
For me, the album format is still king.
Creating these collages of sound continues to inspire and fulfill me. It is my lifeblood.
And I love playing with Carsten and Fredrik — two musical storytellers of the highest caliber. Together, we listen, challenge, and shape the music in the moment.
On this album, you’ll hear a blend of personal favourites alongside original compositions.
The album also includes tributes to the late Danish drummers/percussionists Alex Riel and Marilyn Mazur.
Two tracks were recorded live, while the remaining eight were captured over two days in the studio. I truly hope you’ll enjoy this album. (Stefan Pasborg, Copenhagen, May 2026).

Stefan Pasborg Trio
Copenhagen native Stefan Pasborg has assembled a Danish super trio featuring Carsten Dahl on piano, electric piano, and percussion, alongside Fredrik Lundin on tenor saxophone and flute. These three virtuosos, hailing from the top tier of Scandinavian improvisational music, craft powerful and heartfelt original compositions that traverse past, present, and future. Their music, as captured on the trio’s Live in Denmark (2024), blends A Love Supreme undertones in tracks like Earth with Brecker-esque energy in Wonky Donkey.
As the trio leader, Pasborg has performed over 1,000 concerts across 40 countries and five continents, from Shanghai to Vancouver, Zanzibar to Seoul, and New York to São Paulo. A visionary force, he founded the ILK Music label, the orchestra Ibrahim Electric, and the project “Ritual Dances,” reinterpreting the music of Igor Stravinsky.
“This is not just one of Europe’s most interesting drummers, but one of Europe’s most interesting musicians… Stefan Pasborg, the H.C. Andersen of contemporary jazz.” – Jazz Journal, UK
