Die gefeierte norwegische Hard-Rock-Band AUDREY HORNE macht sich bereit für ihr achtes Studioalbum: „Achilles“ erscheint am 04. September 2026. Als erste Single veröffentlichen sie „Insanity“, eine energetische RocknRoll Nummer, zusammen mit einem Musikvideo, das zur wilden Atmosphäre des Tracks passt.

Nachdem die letzten Studioalben „Blackout“ (2018) und „Devil`s Bell“ (2022) international gefeiert wurden und die Band bereits für ihr Debüt 2005 das Grammy-Äquivalent Spellemannsprisen erhielt, blicken AUDREY HORNE nun in eine leuchtende Zukunft. Shows mit Größen wie AC/DC und Mötley Crüe sowie internationale Touren als Headliner und an der Seite von Papa Roach und den Backyard Babies positionierten die Band als einen der interessantesten norwegischen Rock-Exporte.

Die elf vielseitigen Tracks von „Achilles“ reichen von kraftvollem Hard Rock bis hin zu melodisch-progressiven Stücken – die Songwriting-Fähigkeiten des Quintetts (bestehend aus Sänger Toschie, den Gitarristen Ice Dale von Enslaved und Thomas Tofthagen, Bassist Espen Lien und Schlagzeuger Kjetil Greve) stehen außer Frage.

Der Titeltrack „Achilles“ dient mit dröhnenden Gitarren, eindrucksvoller Rhythmussektion und einnehmendem Gesang als starker Startschuss für das neue Werk. Trotzdem fehlt mir über weite Strecken die spontane Ausgelassenheit, mit der die Band früher selbst durchschnittliche Songs zu kleinen Feiern aufblasen konnte. Die Höhepunkte sind großartig, doch dazwischen wird eher bedächtig marschiert als ausgelassen gerockt. Fuel to the fire – that’s what relentless hard rock outfit AUDREY HORNE ignites! Devil’s Bell is out on April 22, 2022 and proves to be a massive rock’n’roll album full of infectious earworms!

Devil’s Bell offers 9 fist-pumping songs that will shake concert venues worldwide. The album kicks off with charging opener “Ashes to Ashes”, followed by “Animal”, a stripped down rocker that will make you go crazy. Songs such as “Danse Macabre” and “Break Out” prove to be real rock anthems with big arena choruses, showcasing frontman Toschie in top shape, followed by the instrumental “Return To Grave Valley”, immediately creating a laid back atmosphere. Title track “Devil’s Bell” starts off with a strong guitar solo by Ice Dale that leads into a pure melodic hard rock anthem, while “All Is Lost” offers excellent head-turning drumming as the central element of the song. Toschie once again proves that he has one of the most charismatic and energetic voices in rock. The kinetic guitar-work of Ice Dale (Enslaved) and Thomas Tofthagen (ex-Sahg) underline an outstanding genre-warp of 70s and 80s rock via NWOBHM, keeping the music rocking and the listener locked in. As with every AUDREY HORNE album, there are no duds or misfires as the songs flow together seamlessly, making Devil’s Bell a delight to play from the first tune straight to the end.
