Info zu Incarnate

„Never has there been a band as well respected or consistent in the modern metal community as Killswitch Engage have been. Even after 17 years together, they are still as powerful, heavy and focused as they were back in 1999, and that's is perfectly displayed on the band's newest addition to their back catalog, 'Incarnate'.

Straight from the off, 'Incarnate' bows to no trends or niche's, it's exactly what you would expect from a Killswitch Engage album. However, with every release, Killswitch always mix the water up just a little bit, but that little mix impacts the end product in massive ways, 'Alone I Stand' sets the tone for the album straight away, cutting no corners and taking no prisoners, it's heavy and gets straight to the point. 'Hate By Design', 'Cut Me Loose' and 'Strength of The Mind' keep up the metalcore attitude with the added flavour of Jesse Leach's flawless clean vocals, a trademark that has helped push Killswitch Engage further up the mountain of Metal's greatest bands.

'Just Let Go' is a product of the early noughties metalcore revolution that Killswitch themselves help found, and is a sound that many bands have carried on nearly 20 years later, it's melodic licks and spits make it an anthem you want to mosh but cry to at the same time. 'Embraced The Journey...Upraised' and 'Quiet Distress' you would think would be slightly more mellow considering where they are on the album, however they take you on a long winding journey of what complete's Killswitch Engage's entire sound legacy.

Whilst 'It Falls On Me' could be considered a 'slower song' compared to the other tracks on the album, it's still pretty heavy, mostly because of the superb production qualities of guitarist Adam D, his signature guitar tones have become a staple of Killswitch's sound and rightly so.

Ever since his return to the band, Jesse Leach has helped define and complete Killswitch Engage's modern sound, following Howard Jones' departure, this feels like Leach has unleashed the beast and let everything out, both aggressive and emotional, and you can feel his energy and passion on every letter he lets loose from his mouth. After almost 20 years, there is absolutely no sign of slowing down from Killswitch Engage, and with some heavy bands taking things slow nowadays, they could certainly use a lesson on consistency and proficiency from Killswitch Engage. 'Incarnate' is truly a stand out release from Killswitch Engage, and a release that will be high up on the list of the band's already impressive back catalogue.“ (Greig Robertson, www.musicology-online.co.uk)

Killswitch Engage
No shortcuts. No compromises. No BS. From their modest beginnings in New England's hardcore scene to their current status as one of the most influential and inspirational forces in modern music, Killswitch Engage have played by these three simple rules. With their new, fourth album, As Daylight Dies, KSE are proving that if you keep playing the game your way, you'll eventually change the rules for everyone else.

We never consciously went out of our way to be different, guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz says from the band's home base in Westfield, Massachusetts. When we started this band, we just wanted to play cool riffs and scream and sing. We liked many different sounds so we tried to incorporate all these rock and pop styles while keeping a good, solid metal mentality. Eleven songs strong, As Daylight Dies isn't just a testament to the band's original vision, it's also their strongest fusion of aggression, melody, rock and metal to date.

In hindsight, the potential for crossover success was there as early as 1998, when, after the breakup of his influential genre-crossing metal/hardcore unit Overcast, bassist Mike D'Antonio teamed up with Aftershock members Dutkiewicz (then on drums) and guitarist Joel Stroetzel, and singer Jesse Leach to form the earliest …
