Info zu Pot Luck

With his 1962 album „Pot Luck“, Elvis Presley--one of the main men who shook the world with the wild thing called rock & roll--moves away from the feral sounds of his youth towards a more polished pop sound. Along with the ripe vocal backgrounds, there's more of a country influence, more of a 'shuffle' feel rather than a rockin' sound that dabbled in Latin rhythms and moods. Here, Elvis sounds less brash, more overtly romantic--the song 'You'll Be Gone' has more melodramatic angst than an entire season of 'Beverly Hills 90210.'

This isn't to imply that the King's fires were out--he still sings with urgency and conviction on 'Gonna Get Back Home Somehow' and the sly '50s R&B-styled (think Ray Charles) 'Steppin' Out of Line.' If you're looking for Elvis the Wildman Rocker or the Impassioned Rhythm & Blues singer, you must look elsewhere. If you're a thoroughly devoted Elvis fan, take „Pot Luck“ and relax with the King.
