All is emotion and refinement in the interpretations of the soprano Raquel Camarinha and the pianist Yoan Héreau.

On this album, they introduce us to an atypical and little-known sector of Chopin’s output, revealing the beauty of his Polish songs, haunted by the torments of exile and love.

By placing them alongside the Lieder der Mignon, which include some of Schubert’s finest settings of Goethe, the duo achieves an extremely rare symbiosis between poetry and music.

Raquel Camarinha
Die portugiesische Sopranistin Raquel Camarinha begann ihr Gesangsstudium an der „Escola de Musica da Povoa de Varzim“. 2004 wurde sie mit einem ersten Preis für Gesang mit Gratulation der Jury ausgezeichnet.

Danach studierte sie in der Berufsklasse von Chantal Mathias am Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse Paris, wo sie den Master für Gesang sowie das Diplom Artiste Interprète Chant et Répertoire Contemporain et Création erhielt.

Raquel Camarinha ist Preisträgerin mehrerer nationaler und internationaler Wettbewerbe. 2017 war sie Finalistin des wichtigsten Nachwuchswettbewerbs in Frankreich, den Victoires de la Musique Classique in der Kategorie Artiste Lyrique, 2011 erhielt sie den ersten Preis des Concours National de Chant Luisa Todi in Portugal und den Preis für die „Beste weibliche Interpretin“ an der Armel Opera Competition in Ungarn. 2013 errang sie den 1. Preis und den Publikumspreis am Concours International de Chant Baroque de Froville. Ihr Repertoire erstreckt sich vom Barock bis hin zur Zeitgenössischen Musik. Sie hat die grossen Mozartrollen gesungen (Pamina, Susanna, Zerlina) und wichtige Bühnenerfahrung gesammelt mit Morgana, Bellezza (Händel) Titania (The Fairy Queen, Purcell), Polly (Die Dreigroschenoper, Weill/Brecht).

Raquel Camarinha ist regelmässig in der Opéra Comique und in der Philharmonie von Paris zu hören.
