Info for Finer Things (Deluxe)

Clover County is a collector – of life lessons, love letters, bottle caps, ticket stubs, and ones that got away. With the newfound perspective of her twenties, the 24-year-old singer-songwriter packages these memories and mementos from adolescence into her radiant debut album, aptly named Finer Things.

Living in the space between folk, Americana, and alternative, Clover’s self-proclaimed genre of bootgaze is equal parts sonic descriptor and cheeky joke. "It started as a way to describe my music, but now I like to think of it as me reflecting on my thoughtful lyrics while staring down at the cute boots I’m wearing," she laughs.

Inspired by the winking charm of influences like Sheryl Crow and The Chicks, Clover blends the twang of timeless country songwriting with tongue-in-cheek observations on modern love. On Finer Things, Clover found a dream partner in producer Carrie K (Noah Kahan, Jessie Murph, Maggie Antone), who took seriously her intention to honour her experiences of girlhood, heartbreak, and love in all its forms.

"I set out to protect the femininity of these songs to honour the little girl I used to be," Clover says. "I wanted to let the songs be sweet and youthful, and Carrie gave me the space to do that." Following the release of her first single in 2023, Clover toured with the likes of Lord Huron, Shakey Graves, and Medium Build, honing her live sound while writing the songs that would become Finer Things.

The result is a coming-of-age soundtrack that honours the blessings in disguise, the young loves that come and go, and the ephemera you pick up along the way. Released via her own Undercover Lover Records and Thirty Tigers.

Produced by Carrie K (Noah Kahan, Maggie Antone, Koe Wetzel), the album is a coming-of-age soundtrack that explores romantic, familial and platonic love with a winking charm and an observing eye. Now, she’s expanding the world of Finer Things further with the forthcoming deluxe release.

About the deluxe, Clover says: “‘Airpark’, ‘Suitcase’ & ‘Virginia Slim (From The Garage)’, are three songs that feel wholly authentic to who I’ve become this year as a writer – they’re cheeky, evocative and they all blissfully over-romanticize the inevitable experiences in modern love. Working with producer and pal Brad Cook pushed me to be honest with the delivery of these recordings – smudging the edges just a little to ensure every word was crystal clear. Nathan Stocker (Hippo Campus) etched his magical signature underneath each track with tasteful and playful layers of guitars. I’m confident that these final stories are the perfect way to tie the bow on my first album.”

Clover County

Clover County
is the music of A.G. Schiano, who mixes themes of modern love with playful chord structures to define a new but familiar sound that is all her own. Currently based in Athens, Georgia where she is a senior at the University of Georgia, AG has very quickly become one of the most popular female solo artists in the local music scene. Her well-crafted, witty lyrics and soft vocal style are complimented by her white Gretsch electric (which she calls her Cadillac). Often backed by pedal steel, Clover County’s sound is both charming and equally heartbreaking in all the best ways: she smoothly delivers longing lines with devastatingly beautiful eloquence, and can just as effortlessly move to a more upbeat tempo while maintaining her trademark intimate feel.
